Dress – Grassfields | Mustard cross-body bag – Kate Spade | Earrings – Kate Spade | Sandals – Local Boutique
I’m currently en route to New Orleans, and will be there all week for Essence Festival/a reunion with friends from college! I love everything about New Orleans! The people, the culture, the food, the music, the good energy, ahh! It’s one of my favorite cities to visit, so you can only imagine my excitement right now.
Before heading out I thought I’d put up this post from an afternoon well spent Downtown Seattle. I had been meaning to shoot this dress for some time now, as I completely adore it! Another thing that has been on my radar lately – mustard! And it so happens to also be in vogue at the moment. I got this dress from Grasssfields a while back, but it looks like it’s currently sold out :(. They have a bunch of great off shoulder dresses, so be sure to checkout their site here for more options.
In other news – I’m attempting to be more open on here for a number of reasons. As much as I love fashion, there’s more to my life than it. A friend of mine recently made a statement about me having a “perfect” life, and something about that made me feel unsettled. It made me question if I am doing this all wrong, if that’s the impression people leave with after visiting my blog.
I want this platform to have more meaning for you and for me. Life’s hard, and as grateful as I am for all my blessings, I’m far from perfect and like everyone, I battle with my own demons.
I want to be able to share part of myself with you all, my struggles, my wins and in that way my hope is that you feel less alone with whatever you may be going through, or leave feeling inspired or encouraged. 🙂
Okay that said, let’s take baby steps with this. I’m naturally quite private, so these things are hard for your girl! But here’s a 10 questions about me tag to kick things off, enjoy!
How old are you? 24.
What’s your shoe size? I’m a size 11. If you’re a size 11+, you know the struggle! -__-.
How tall are you? A lot of people I’ve met in person expect me to be shorter for some reason but I’m 5’10 baby!
What’s your favorite color? It changes, but at the moment – burgundy and baby blue.
What’s your favorite food? I never thought the answer to this question would ever change, as it’s been shrimp fried rice for the last 10 years but I’m actually loving quinoa at the moment. It pairs so well with a variety of sauces, plus it’s good for you 🙂
Last song you listened to? Give It Up To Me by Sean Paul! <3
Last person you texted? Christine, my aesthetician 🙂
Number of siblings? I have 5 amazing siblings – 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
What book are you reading? Currently reading Teachings of Rumi
How many languages do you speak? I used to be ashamed to say that I don’t speak any other Nigerian language fluently, but I’ve come to accept it (unless pidgin – Nigerian broken English, counts lol). I speak English, pidgin, and some French. 😀
And that’s all for today, as always, thank you for reading!
